MTV News is reporting that Jay-z has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, and will undergo surgery in two weeks to remove the tumor that has made him so rare.
According to TMZ, Jay-s has undergone surgery in Los Angeles and will be released from the hospital in a few weeks.
The singer was diagnosed with the disease in 2012, and was unable to perform due to the condition.

Jay-S had been scheduled to perform on Monday Night Football at 1 p.m.
He has not performed since.TMZ also reports that Jay’s father, Jay, is reportedly working to get the singer’s name cleared by the FDA for use in food, cosmetics, and other products.
Jay has become the face of a number of viral diseases, including HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and his career has been a major factor in many of the celebrity illnesses.
He is the subject of a new documentary, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which is slated for release in the U.S. on June 17.
